NOTICE FOR ADMISSION TEST

All students who are sitting for ADMISSION TEST IN ENGLISH HONOURSAND HONOURS IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE (COMMERCE) on 17.06.11 must bring their receipt of application form. It will be treated as their admit card.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO HONOURS COURSES

 

SANSKRIT 50% in subject and 50% in aggregate
HISTORY 50% in subject and 50% in aggregate.
POLITICAL SCIENCE 50% in subject and 60% in aggregate / 60% in subject and 50% in aggregate
EDUCATION 60% in subject and 55% in aggregate.
GEOGRAPHY 50% in subject and 50% in aggregate.
BENGALI 60% in subject and 55% in aggregate
PHILOSOPHY 60% in subject and 50% in aggregate
JOURNALISM 50% in English and 50% in aggregate
COMMERCE 60% in subject and 60% in aggregate followed by Admission Test.

For General students: 50% in subject and 45% in aggregate. No admission test for general students
ENGLISH 50% in subject and 60% in aggregate followed by Admission Test.
COMMUNICATIVE ENGLISH until the university notifies that Communicative English is now a Honours subject, it will not be possible to have any admissions.
ECONOMICS (a) Students who have passed Business Economics including Business Mathematics are also eligible for admission in Economics Honours

 

(b) We have B.A Economics and B.Sc Economics.

 

(c)  Criteria --

45% in subject and 50% in aggregate
OR
55% in subject or related subject (Maths)
OR
50% in aggregate if the candidate had not studied the subject in her previous board provided all other clauses are satisfied


For SC, ST:  40% in subject and 40% in aggregate

 

 

(d) Passed in English which subject having full marks not less than 100

(e) Must have Mathematics or Business Mathematics in previous qualifying board and scored pass marks in Maths. But it is not necessary to take Maths as a general paper to study Economics Honours. 

(f) General Subject Combination pattern for---

  1. B.A Economics (H) : (i) Education / History; (ii) political Science / Journalism
  2. B.Sc. in Economics (H): (i) Mathematics; (ii) Journalism/ Geography/ Political Science

Generic Rules

Admission commences immediately after the publication of H.S. Examination results and classes commence on such dates as may be fixed by the University. Students are selected on the basis of the marks obtained at the qualifying examinations. Application forms for admission must be had from the college office.

The following documents must accompany the duly filled-up admission form at the time of submisson of the form :

  • Original mark sheet and admit card of H.S/equivalent (10+ 2)
  • One photo copy of Mark sheet and one photo copy of Admit card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination attested by the Head of the Institution, the candidate last passed from
  • One photo copy of Marksheet and photo copy of Admit card of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination attested by the head of the institution, the candidate last passed form.
  • Character certificate from the head of the Institution, the candidate passed from.
  • Two passport size photographs.
  • SC/ST must produce the caste certificate in original at the time of admission

 

Syllabus for Admission Test
    English Honours
    • Paragraph  Writing  (word Limit – 150;  Marks – 10)
    • Explanation of a poem  (word Limit – 150;  Marks – 10)
    • Objective answers   (Marks 30)

     

    Time: 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM

BCom Honours - Accounting & Finance

 

    • Creative Writing  (word Limit – 300;  Marks – 20)
    • Mathematics and Current Affair (Marks 30)

     

    Time: 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM
