Infrastructure
Physical Facilities
We have tried to optimally use the physical resources and have continued with the main college in the morning section to allow us the use of the infrastructure in the day hours. Ours is probably the only morning college to have its own building. We have our own water supply provided by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The CESC also provides its dedicated connection to the college. Since our connection is the same as provided to the adjoining NRS hospital, power cuts are an absolute rarity. Location wise the college is situated at a place which is very convenient for transport facilities. Right from suburban trains to numerous bus routes to the metro ,facilities are available round the clock.
(a) Academic activities
Apart from the traditional facilities and equipments, the college has procured PCs, scanner A3 laser printer, A4 color printer, laptop, LCD projector, wall mounted high gain screen, television, DVD player, public address system, OHPs and other educational tools. Some of the computers in the college are networked.
(b) Co-curricular activities
The college shares a large auditorium with Surendranath College and various cultural events, seminars debates etc are held there. This apart, Room 7 of the college serves as an audio-visual room and smaller events and seminars are held in the room.
(c) Sports
Indoor facilities are available in the common room. We seek the help of Eastern Railway authorities and the St Paul’s Cathedral Mission College to use their ground facilities for organizing our annual sports.
The building has undergone a massive expansion using funds worth Rs. 30 lakhs from the MLA and MPLAD scheme. We have also procured a lot of audio-visual infrastructure and various software for students over the last four years.
The college provides extremely hygienic conditions to all its staff and students. Students have their own common room and large washrooms apart from a Union room.
