Economics

Prof. Smita Majumdar completed UGC Minor Research Project entitled Economic Reform and its impact on Human Development in India: an Analysis of State Level Data 1991-2001 during 2004-2006. Dr. Suparna Gangopadhyay has completed a UGC Sponsored Project entitled Efficiency Assessment of Derivative Trading in the Liberalised Indian Economic Scenario.

(a) N.A.B.A.R.D. Project :

Prof. Kaustubh Lahiri worked as a Part Time Lecturer for the Project titled ' Scope of Institutional Credit Flow to Small Scale Industry ' -- under Professor Samar Dutta,Director, Agro--Economics Research Center , Visva Bharati, Santniketan-731235.
                                                                                                  ( between 1988 to 1991 )

A report was prepared for Bankura District,West Bengal.

Philosophy

(a) Sravanti Bhowmik is engaged in a project of dissemination of lives and works of existential philosophers in Bengali.

(b) She has also been commissioned by Sahitya Samsad, a renowned publishing house, for compiling a Bengali dictionary of philosophical terms and concepts.

Sanskrit

Dr. Samir Mukherjee has completed one Minor Research Project entitled “Folkloric motives in some Vedic Tales”

A Newsletter is regularly published from the college where both students and teachers contribute.



Magazine & Departmental Journals

A magazine is brought out by the students union every year. This enables the students to try their hand in writing articles, poems and stories. Journals are brought out by the various departments where the faculty members supervise the writing of papers by the students. This creates interest among the students about the topics they have to study.
