Students' Union

Surendranath College for Women Students' Union is a democratically elected students’ forum which always stands by the side of the students in their need and helps them to articulate the demands related to their life in the campus. It organizes the Annual Social, the Freshers' Welcome Programme, celebrates Teachers' Day, Annual Sports, Cultural Competitions, Blood Donation Programmes and many other Cultural Programmes efficiently. The students union also puts up Wall Magazines regularly and publishes the college magazine every year.

Students' Activities

Students participate in various extracurricular activities like Freshers' Welcome , Annual Social, Rabindra Jayanti, Independence Day Celebration, Reunion and Programme of Alumni Association, Intra College Cultural Competitions, Inter College Cultural Competitions, TV Programmes, Sports, Blood Donation Camps Aids Awareness Programmes etc.

Through NSS and fund-raising drives for specific requirements including natural calamities and disasters we try to inculcate in them a sense of community-orientation. We have tried to introduce computer learning and use modern teaching methods at a modest level Of late a number of students from different departments have obtained jobs as telecallers, receptionists etc. Value based modules involving movie-clippings are also shown to students.

Educational Excursions

Almost all departments organise educational excurtion on a regular basis.Educational excurtion are compulsory for department of Geography

NSS

The college has a planned system of evolving students' through the National Service Scheme in community development activities. The students' volunteers take part in different social services through NSS activities. Prof Kaustubh Lahiri acts as the officer of the NSS.
